My report on "Cycling in Turkey"

By AzizGurpinar - Posted on 09 March 2010

Here is my report on "Cycling in Turkey". This blog will be updated regularly. Why don't you talk about cycling in ur country? :-)

Cycling routes & roads in Turkey

Roads in Turkey run the gamut for smooth tarmac to rough and pot-holed with very little shoulder to ride on.  This is especially problematic because trafic is relatively heavy in Western Turkey and there are lots of lorries speeding by.

The best cycling is on the Meditteranean coast between Silifke and Gazipasa and the scenic route on the North Aegean Coast.

In this project, we are gonna cycle in Trabzon and it is a city which is among foliage(namely able to cycle).

The Locals

Turks have a well-deserved reputation for hospitality.  They don't go out of their way quite as much as the Syrians, but they will definitely try to help you if they can.  You are often invited in for tea and even offered accommodation on several occasions.

Wonderful idea Aziz, I added a link to your page in your "team page". I hope I will be able to visit your cycling route and your city. Ciao, Alfredo

Cheers, mate. Please go on!
